Score Soccer App Reviews

Great app for us anal fans

Love this, well thought out , great output options via email or csv, game summaries are terrific. Covers all events in a game: goals, corners, shots, penalty and free kicks. Nice job gang!! One suggestion for improvement: when tagging a player to an event, use the screen real estate to shoe more players rather than just the initial 3. I dont like having to spin the wheel so much as it takes more time to log the event. I look forward to seeing this app get even better.

Perfect

This app has worked great for me for three seasons now.

Pretty good app overall

If I had to do it all over again, I would still buy this app. It is pretty easy to use and allows you to gather the most important stats as well as many more. The only thing I wish that it had was some sort of guide on how to successfully register a stat for each item possible. This would really save you time as opposed to just stumbling through it on your own.

Best Scoring App Available!!!

We (I) have tried every soccer scoring app available and this is the best one out there! Simple interface makes it easy to keep up with every stat imaginable, and now it even includes a time of possession tracker (I believe it is the only out there that does). Out of the box reports are good, but if you need to go further, stats are in a .sqlite file which is completely mineable. I have been using the app for 3 years now, and have converted 4 more high schools and 6 other club teams to start using it! Cheers, Enjoy, & Go Admirals!

Great APP

I have been using the app for three years now. Great APP. Time of possession (TOP) was an added bonus this year. However, the TOP clock has ended up greater in time than the total time of the game in a few games. Please fix the bug.

My Review

Great program the only problem was that it only worked one game. After that it didnt open or it opened then closed again.

Score Soccer 1.1.3

Loved the application when I originally purchased it, but had many problems with upgrade 1.1.2. I have used it for three games since upgrade to 1.1.3 and have had none of the memory problems that plagued 1.1.2. I appreciate the added ability to edit players since I keep a generic number list to use to set up different teams and can now edit out unused numbers. I had excellent customer service from Rare Software addressing the problems I had with 1.1.2 and although their suggestions did not totally fix the problems they were useful as workarounds until the update was released.

Fantastic Application

They have some great updates adding fouls and what not. It is awesome to use if your a coach. Wish you could save games and stats to create overall stats and also have game notes other than with action. But over very helpful and the player and parents love to see the stats.

So far, so good

Liked what I saw in looking at it breifly this morning. Cant wait to use at a game. Echo the request for the ability to save game info through a season. Would also ask for "timer" ability so I wouldnt have to keep looking at the app to see when the period was over. But, overall, really good!

Great app, great value, works well

Considering the price, this is the top app for game stats Ive seen. Used it over the weekend at a State level tournament with two teams, comparing it to a similar app that was more expensive. This app won the contest between the two (dont know if I can mention the other app). The only thing the other app had was that it saves the games and compiles the stats for the season - but then you cant e-mail the information out of the app. So, overall very good. I like the fact that much of the information is default which makes recording quicker. If youre recording the info for both teams, it can get quite intense. There were a couple quirks which bothered me, but will hopefully be corrected soon and which until they are I can work around: the problem is with the player names. When trying to add players and then alphabetize them, some get duplicated while others get deleted. I had another problem when trying to change my team from one to another, and what happened is my other teams goalkeeper get defaulted as the oppoents goalkeeper and since there were no players on the opponents roster, I couldnt delete the keeper. But as I said - minor problem. Maybe an update could include more things to track. Right now its just shots on goal - for instance the free kick option only goes to "save, goal, wide or high", but does not include the stats for a free kick that isnt taken as a shot. Connecting passes, tackles, player loosing possession and such would be nice as options. The biggest thing I would like to see - and would be willing to pay more for it - is to have the app track stats and data for a team over a season or even longer. Ultimately with an interface where you could break it down to a few games such as a tournament, or the whole season. But Im very happy with the app, and will be using it until something better comes out.

HUGE Strides Forward

I have been using the application since version 1 was released and have seen the product improve with each subsequent release. This version is no exception and adds key features weve been clamoring for. This developer is committed to improving their product and proves that they are listening to their user base by incorporating the most requested functionality. This latest update adds the much requested feature of saving matches. Not just saving games, but you can now save them by category: tournament, season, playoffs, other. I am assuming that there will be functionality coming that allows you to group reporting (on the device) based on these categories. At this time you can only see statistics on the device by individual game, or ALL games. Still a nice improvement over the previous version where you could not see any statistics until you emailed them to yourself. Another key feature that was added was tracking events, by location, on the field - and the ability to print out a beautiful chart (by player or team) at the end of the match. ScoreSoccer has always had the better reporting mechanism and this chart continues that tradition. "Steals" was added as a trackable statistic which is great information and improves the level of detailed data coaches have at their disposal. The app does not support tracking "turnovers", but I am told that is coming soon. In my experience, you can coach and still use this app without losing focus on whats happening on the field because the interface is very simple to use and allows you to enter an event with very few taps. Its easy enough that I sometimes enlist the help of my 11 year old son to score games for me. With these new additions, this product surpasses other apps in this niche in overall functionality and usefulness. It doesnt have ALL of the functionality of its biggest rival, but it has everything that most coaches care about, need, and is MUCH more intuitive and usable.

Really nice

Version 1.2 was worth the modest price, especially since there wasnt much competition. It could score soccer games and give some useful results. However, it was missing some important capabilities. Versjoon 2 addresses those lacks and makes the program three times better. It really works for scoring soccer games, keeping track of shots, corners, fouls, substitutions, playing time, cards, and more. It can even track the location shots were taken from. You can build a set of teams and add new games between teams you already have entered. You can see game stats or season stats, by player or by team. And it now supports iPads--much nicer for scorekeeping. You can email game stats as human readable text or csv files. There are still a few bugs, for example that the menu disappears at times, but hopefully theyll get worked out. The needed major functionality for scorekeeping is there. The remaining major drawback is that there is no way I could see to share results on the web. The developers should have a web export option to track team or league results and stats. Id even be willing to pay an annual fee for it. They could probably raise the price to $5 or $10 too, once the bugs are worked out, but dont tell them I said so.

Wonderful

This update is just wonderful. Nice graphics, excellent tools for tracking games and teams, and the reports generated via email are amazing. Scorecard tracking is detailed and very easy to perform. Score Soccer was already the best app for scorekeeping, and 2.0 is even better. Thanks!

Great app

Please look into adding turn overs and defensive stops or defensive plays to this great app. Otherwise it is a very well designed app and very useful. Version 2.0 added some great features but still looking to be able to track turn overs.

Excellent score tracker

I really enjoy using this app. The Sept 2010 update is wonderful. Thank You! It is easy to email my game results to the newspapers so they can do their write up. It is easy to enter the roster and the csv export file format is perfect for tracking the whole season of stats on my spreadsheet. (even though this new update tracks a whole season as well)

Great way to score games

I like this app for scoring my kids soccer games. I would request one change. Unlike professional level soccer, U12 level soccer tends to make 3, 4 or more substitutions all at once. I would like to be able to select multiple ins-outs all at one time instead of one player in-out at a time. For example: 4, 7, 11 & 12 are going in for 3, 8, 24 & 34. More line a checklist instead of the radio option buttons currently used. Thanks.

Near Perfect

Would consider it perfect if you would allow for the selection of multiple player substitutions during the game as mentioned in the review posted on October 25th. Using this to track youth soccer, and when multiple substitutions are made it gets quite crazy, especially if it happens on the heals of a goal, or other play you want to track. Otherwise, this is great. Provides great input to discuss the game with players after!!

Update is not great for the CSV spreadsheet

Before the update, it listed the players and their stats vertically in different rows and I could get one game printed on one sheet of paper. Now it lists them all in one long row horizontally, making it hard to see all of them and messing up my season stats. The input of the stats is great but worthless if the spreadsheet doesnt work for me. Ill give it 5 stars if they can get it back the way it was.

Game manager crash??

Worked awesome right up til latest upgrade?? Crashes every time I try to get into game manager...... Was 5 stars

Wow!

Our son plays club soccer and we wanted a way to gather stats for the coach. This app does the job! Its very easy to add players and keep stats as the game is in play. It has a count down clock, which plays while the app is open or not. I like how easy it is to keep track of goals, fouls, corner kicks, shots (and if they were wide, high or saved). After the game, with a click of a button, you can email the stats to the coach and all the data is displayed in an easy readable chart. The only thing I wish this app had was a way to add the position the player is playing. Other than that, this is an awesome app! Well done, thank you! Our coach is going to get so much information, hes going to think hes gone pro!
