Score Soccer App Bewertungen

Needs Updating

I have used this app for three seasons of high school soccer. This season, functions have started not to work. I haven’t been able to share to Twitter at all this season, and now the Bluetooth transfer and Dropbox Restore have started not working. The app could use an update to these functions as well as general improvements to be a bit less complicated with buttons. I only use the “Shot” and “Own Goal” buttons and would love the option to remove the others so they aren’t crowding the screen.

Good App

I performed a few practice rounds first as there is quite a bit of data to input to get going. Plus’s I do like the reports it creates. Minus’s a little to much toggling to get specific stats. Especially, for indoor Futbol. It’s to fast paced of a game to use this app. So I created a spreadsheet exactly like the one the app will populate and we take stats the old fashioned way and then come back and input the data. This works well for getting the data but your game log will not show specific times of a certain shot or tackle. I do use the clock and the substitutions to track the data on minutes. This works well. So all in all. I’m impressed. Have yet to see if it will populate end of season results by compiling all matches within a certain season.

Will keep looking

Requires too much tapping and selecting to get the stats entered. Impossible to watch and follow the game because I was constantly looking at my phone trying to enter the data.

Manual or “how to” would be nice!

I

Good for what it does, not customizable or meant for fast stat taking

It does what the screenshots show. If you want to take different stats (such as pass completion) you can’t customize it to do so. I bought it hoping I could add my own stats (yes I know it doesn’t list that as a feature).

Need more customize button options

Get rid of "own goal" button and perhaps others so we can log events we are interested in.

Great App. Spectacular Service.

I have been using this App for the last 3 years and I have requested some changes and recently encountered a problem with the latest update. In both cases the designer responded almost immediately and implemented the changes. It is obvious that customer support is important to the designer. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

Great APP

I have been using the app for three years now. Great APP. Time of possession (TOP) was an added bonus this year. However, the TOP clock has ended up greater in time than the total time of the game in a few games. Please fix the bug.

Best Scoring App Available!!!

We (I) have tried every soccer scoring app available and this is the best one out there! Simple interface makes it easy to keep up with every stat imaginable, and now it even includes a time of possession tracker (I believe it is the only out there that does). Out of the box reports are good, but if you need to go further, stats are in a .sqlite file which is completely mineable. I have been using the app for 3 years now, and have converted 4 more high schools and 6 other club teams to start using it! Cheers, Enjoy, & Go Admirals!

Great app!

Really easy to use while watching the game. Collects all relevant stats. Each game or entire seasons can be easily email exported to Excel. The Twitter feed is very cool to instantly communicate to parents back home while at out of state college scouting tournaments. 5 stars all day long!

Fun and easy to use

Score Soccer is definitely the easiest soccer stat App I've tried. Soccer doesn't compare to baseball or basketball in terms of the abundance of stats to monitor but this makes it easy to track playing time, shots, fouls etc. You can customize 2 of your own stars. Would love to see passing and possession but those are complicated in other Apps.

Solid & Simple Stats App

Over used this app for an entire season of keeping soccer stats (previous version), and now using the latest version for our current season. Overall we like the app. It allows you to track stats quickly and gives us a lot of information. We especially like the shots map for our team and competitors. In the new version, a lot of the buttons went away and you now just touch areas or text for the same actions. This was confusing at first but I've started getting used to it. I think the intent is to make it simpler to use and it will but when you are fumbling around during a game for a stop clock button for example it's cumbersome. I wish there was integrated help or help documents. Figuring things out for the first time can take some trial and error. Also I'm still have no trouble syncing data between iPads. I have tried many things mess with this and the previous version. The sync starts and just runs for a long time. There is no indication of files transferring, percent complete or anything. We have a lot of data and I expect it to take a while but without indicators I don't know. I usually give up and stop the process. In comparison I was able to back my data up to Dropbox (in app feature) in about 20 seconds. Again overall we really like this app. It's still not perfect but is the best we've seen especially for the price.

Player buttons

I wish there was a player button for the 11 on the field just like your sister app hoopstats. I think this would help tracking player time and save time during the game

Update 2.6.1 introduced errors

Custom Notes no longer show up in event list or in the export. The game clock controls (though hidden) are better. This app generally meets my needs; would like shot direction at goal.

Awesome

Been a user of the app for the past 3 years and it keeps getting better. In addition to allowing me to easily track stats, I can now customize the stats I track. Several other parents have now joined in to live tweet games for those parents who can't make a particular game to follow along live!!!Awesome!!!

Soccer Score

This app has it's ups and downs. Since the latest upgrade however, it's more downs. Can't see the playing time when tracking playing time and still only have to custom boxes for scoring. Before the app was changed with the latest version, it was what I needed. Now I can't track playing time even with the indicator turned on in the tools section. The other thing I can't seem to find is a help screen. The tips and tricks section is insignificant. On the clock, it keeps running at the end of each period. It needs to stop at the end of the period. Extended time is not automatic in youth soccer. There should be a tab to add extended time if it's needed. I would not recommend this app.

Love It

I have been using the app for almost 3 years now and I have loved it. I have recommended it to various coaches at the JC, High School and the club level. With iOS 8, when I bring up a new entry, the fields, such as keeper and team, are blank but are populated after adding the shooting player. Small issue. The field has also been shrunk. Both minor issues do not affect the overall functionality of the app nor the ease of the app.

Beats paper

Love this app. It beats paper all to heck, especially when it raining. The only thing I wish it did, most team wear white when home and their colors when away, wish it could recognize this. When you got 2 teams with the same color this would help. Other then that, I have turned several others onto it.

Update after a year of use

Update: Twitter is not working and I haven't had any response from support when I asked for help. There needs to be a way to change (or even edit/view) twitter info. I use this for multiple teams with different twitter accounts and can not log in in any way, leaving that feature useless. Original review: This app is great - I figured it out by the end of the first game and now the parents love getting the stats and shot charts emailed to them after the game. I notice some reviewers would like this this or that added, but I honestly feel the app is very user friendly and efficiently laid out.

Definitely worth the money

I've used this app for about three seasons. It is user-friendly, intuitive and has the ability to keep track of more than I need. They are quick to release updates to fix bugs and have found a way to make a powerful app, very flexible. The more I use it, the more I like it.

Does everything i need.

I dont need every detail. This app does just what i want and need.

bluetooth transfer

Good basic app. I'm not happy with the bluetooth transfer of data. It takes forever. I'm not sure what the data rate is on a bluetooth transfer. We are currently using two I pads to score games and would like to keep the data on one I pad. I couldn't find any instructions on the bluetooth transfer. I do like the ease of sending game score and stats to the local newspapers right after the game has finished. We are currently using the app for High School girls soccer.

Good app but can not transfer data correctly

The app works pretty good and is pretty straightforward for basic stats. The only real bug is when trying to transfer data to iPhone or other device it gives all scores to the goalie!!?? Paid $4.95 and I can't use it to email out stats quickly due to this issue. Wish they would add ability to add headers, crosses and even time of possession. Good basic app.

Shots

Great app. Well worth the few dollars. The reports are excellent for analytically minded coaches capable of recognizing strengths or exposing weaknesses of players based on field placements of shots/fouls. This app needs three things: 1. Not every shot results in a goal keeper being credited with a save. Sometimes defenders block the shot or clear the ball out. There should be an option to tally a shot with 'no save' as the result. That way when reporting stats to newspapers after games, you don't omit shots or embellish saves numbers. 2. Sometimes shots are both high and wide. As a coach, I'll take wide misses all day. That means the kids are aiming for the corners and not just kicking at the keeper. High is less tolerable and requires adjustments and technique training. High and wide is just bad form and needs to be fixed. Knowing which players do that would benefit the coaching they receive and the team as a whole. It needs a 'high and wide' option as the result of a shot. 3. The excel spreadsheets don't export properly. One column heading has two "tags" but the columns beneath it with the data are split into two separate columns. It forces the data to populate with its alignment off by one column as a result. Everything is shifted one cell to the right from where its corresponding column heading is. This is a MUST FIX!

Player stats

Good app but when I try to add a stat to my team players the other teams players info shows up under my team name stats. This is happening for the following stats( foul, steal, turnover, corner kicks, own goals). The other stat seem to be working fine. Please correct as I am not able to capture the correct information.

Not worth using

This app brings new meaning to "clunky". It is nearly impossible to use and in no way intuitive. Design is horrible, possibly the worst I've ever seen (I have used more than 500 apps).

Good & Getting Better

Fun to keep track of game stats. Would like to add "blocked" as a option to shots taken.

Best Soccer Stat App Out There

Looked a number of stat apps to keep stats for comp soccer, most of them are harder than pencil and paper (at least for the person who did not write the app). This one is very good. It is quick, simple and complete. If you make a mistake you can fix it and I get better information and detail from stats gathered in the app than by pencil and paper (helps one watch the game more closely as the stat keeping is much quicker). The Rare Software is responsive and replied quickly to a few suggestions I emailed to them. Would like to see cloud based stat keeping so any device tied to your apple ID can keep and see the stats, would also be great as a set up to live stat posting. All in all the application works as designed, did not crash and kept all my data allowing me to keep stats for three games in a days then retrieve the data later. Great job!

Recommend it to my fellow coaches

I recommend this app to other high school coaches all the time. I have one student entering data and they typically just ask a team member who is on the bench to help them track things if they get some quick things to add. After the game I email the reports to all the media with a few lines from me in the game summary. Easy to use. I have recently started to just list a phantom list of players that I use to build rosters of the opponents with. If I need a name for later it is a quick edit. (Zz1, Zz2..) I do agree with shoot out issue and the own goal. But that is easy to fix in the spreadsheet later.

Good, but too slow

I would prefer this to have lists that are always available, rather than pop ups. By the time I select the event, the player, and the outcome, I have missed the next few events. If I could quickly select the player, the event and outcome from a list/display that is always visible, I could get more information. There is no way I can track important information like turnovers and steals on a fast moving game with the current set up. If I could record the results more quickly and actually use the capabilities of this app, I would be delighted. Maybe someone has advice on how they have made it work for them - I would love to see it.

Great app- own goals messed up though

Have used this app all season for our hs varsity team. So easy to use. Only problems (small) involve own goals, jersey color, and pk shoot out. Own goals don't show the right score in the events window, but do show correct score on the screen. The app should auto switch jersey color based on home away. Also, the pk shoot out should be factored correctly into the score and players' stats. It adds goals to stats and changes the score line. These are all minor problems, and I still gave the app 5 stars.

Solid.

Worth the $.

Bluetooth Transfer Issue

Transferring games from the host device to the receiver does not work properly. It gives the goal tender that was scored on credit for the goal. Once this issue is fixed I will give it a higher rating but it is useless for our league,

Better than the rest, but needs improvements

I love this app for stat keeping for our high school games. However, the Twitter function doesn't work as advertised. It certainly tweets, but even in 'scoring only' mode, it tweets fouls, corners, shots, etc. And when there is a score (at least tonight) it didn't update the score on that tweet. (Posted a Shot:Goal, but still displayed the score as 0-0). Needs more customization to how tweets look, etc. Would be an absolute 5 star app if the live tweeting had a little more customization and worked as advertised.

Would be great if

This app is good. It does keep track of player time but you can only see it when it is e-mailed to your account. As a coach I wish that I could record stuff easier while watching the game but it is hard with any app that I have found free or purchased.

Awesome!

This app is a great addition to the stat tracking that my team already has in place. The ease of use and intuitive controls make this app a must buy in my opinion.

Really Good......

......but could be perfect. Is it possible to put the team roster in a sidebar instead of as a pop up? This way I could see who is currently on field and make subs a little easier. I could also allow me to pick the shooters quickly. It is def well worth it for parent input and for identifying areas to be improved. Thanks for the great app. BTW I use this on the iPad. I dont think my suggestion would work on the phone.

Needs to be better

Yes, this app is very easy to use. The only one I could find with ease of use, and easy to set up. Twitter and email features make this a great tool to help fans follow the game and to get the stats to the paper, school, etc. However, again as I have seen reviewed before, need "blocked shot" as an option for shots. Such a simple suggestion just seems to be ignored. Also, as long as the spot on the field is being marked for the shot why not record the distance. This could be the perfect app with a little attention.

Great App

Works very well. Fairly intuitive, and the ability to go back later to edit is helpful. I concur that having a 'blocked' shot attempt option would be nice, and a way to import a roster instead of manually entering each name. Also would appreciate saving stats for each half. A bit problematic to accurately log fouls if in defensive side of pitch, since app shows just half of field. But I'm sure later versions will make this cool app even more functional.

Nearly perfect

This is a wonderful app. This will chart nearly every stat you need in a game. Now for the suggestions: having the option to score a shot as "blocked" would cover all my needs. In a perfect world being able to score completed passes would be cool too.

Very good app!

I am so excited about this app! I've been waiting for something like this app! I've used the app for my kids last two games and it's easy to use (once you figure it out). Some additions I'd like to see...all players have a "roll up" except for the keeper. Id like to see where shots were taken on the keepers and results. An option to keep all items/data points on the screen during the game. Full field option and a set up/user manual or instructions. Some items are not intuitive. Thank you!

Needs a few more things......

App is pretty good..... Some more options for the end of game report are critical. A scoring summary with goals, assists, times, which half, score tally, and Scorers with descriptions. Also a keeper saves along with summary of shots on/off goal. Basically everything is nice just need to have an option other than the supper indepth summary like a Major Event Summary to get the major info accurately to sports writers. or friends and family etc

Awesome!

My husband and I took on the task of tracking stats for our daughter's select soccer team, and after the first game during which he struggled with a paper chart and trying to find the right column, player, etc. while also watching the game, I said, "there's gotta be an app for that!" I found ScoreSoccer, and once we conquered the slight learning curve, it's proving to be very useful. It's quick and easy to enter events, I love the running clock and automatic time tracking, and the user interface is generally pretty intuitive. My husband wasn't sold at first because he had a hard time figuring out how to enter the data, but when I pointed out that with the old school method he'd still have to transfer the handwritten data to a spreadsheet and build a bunch of calculations to track playing time etc., he agreed this is the way to go. I'd like to see an "other" option so we can track goal kicks per our coach's request, but other than that it's pretty darned awesome. Oh, and editing the sub time in the events doesn't change the playing time tracked, but that's not something you'd normally need to do. When we contacted Rare with our questions, the response was quick and thorough; great support for a great app!

Wow!

Our son plays club soccer and we wanted a way to gather stats for the coach. This app does the job! It's very easy to add players and keep stats as the game is in play. It has a count down clock, which plays while the app is open or not. I like how easy it is to keep track of goals, fouls, corner kicks, shots (and if they were wide, high or saved). After the game, with a click of a button, you can email the stats to the coach and all the data is displayed in an easy readable chart. The only thing I wish this app had was a way to add the position the player is playing. Other than that, this is an awesome app! Well done, thank you! Our coach is going to get so much information, he's going to think he's gone pro!

Game manager crash??

Worked awesome right up til latest upgrade?? Crashes every time I try to get into game manager...... Was 5 stars

Update is not great for the CSV spreadsheet

Before the update, it listed the players and their stats vertically in different rows and I could get one game printed on one sheet of paper. Now it lists them all in one long row horizontally, making it hard to see all of them and messing up my season stats. The input of the stats is great but worthless if the spreadsheet doesn't work for me. I'll give it 5 stars if they can get it back the way it was.

Near Perfect

Would consider it perfect if you would allow for the selection of multiple player substitutions during the game as mentioned in the review posted on October 25th. Using this to track youth soccer, and when multiple substitutions are made it gets quite crazy, especially if it happens on the heals of a goal, or other play you want to track. Otherwise, this is great. Provides great input to discuss the game with players after!!

Great way to score games

I like this app for scoring my kids soccer games. I would request one change. Unlike professional level soccer, U12 level soccer tends to make 3, 4 or more substitutions all at once. I would like to be able to select multiple ins-outs all at one time instead of one player in-out at a time. For example: 4, 7, 11 & 12 are going in for 3, 8, 24 & 34. More line a checklist instead of the radio option buttons currently used. Thanks.

Excellent score tracker

I really enjoy using this app. The Sept 2010 update is wonderful. Thank You! It is easy to email my game results to the newspapers so they can do their write up. It is easy to enter the roster and the csv export file format is perfect for tracking the whole season of stats on my spreadsheet. (even though this new update tracks a whole season as well)
